The New York Medical Aid in Dying (MAID) Act has finally passed in the NYS Senate! It passed in the Assembly earlier this year, so now it will go to the Governor for her to sign. This bill would afford terminally ill New Yorkers greater peace and the ability to die with dignity.
The MAID Act would allow a terminally ill, mentally capable adult to request life-ending medication from a doctor that the person can self-administer at a time of his or her choosing, or never, should suffering become unbearable.
