100 New Citizens Sworn in in Dutchess County

Congratulations to the 100 individuals, hailing from 43 different countries across the globe, who took the oath to become U.S. citizens on February 7th at the Family Services Family Partnership Center in Poughkeepsie! Dutchess County Clerk Brad Kendall hosted the ceremony, presided over by Family Court Judge Tracy MacKenzie. Dutchess County League members sponsored the ceremony by providing festive Valentine’s Day bags of candy to welcome our new citizens. And, Jane Smith spoke on behalf of the League, explaining our historic beginnings, mission, values and purpose, as well as impressing upon our new citizens the importance of voting.
