An illustration features Lady Justice blindfolded, holding scales and a sword, against a radiant red and orange background. Text at the top reads: "What the Constitution Means to Me.

Great Way to Learn about our Constitution!

Even before we ALL started giving our U.S. Constitution more attentive appreciation, Heidi Schreck’s 2017 one-woman play was wowing Broadway audiences in spite of a title that might better fit a 6th grade social studies report: “What the Constitution Means to Me.”

It’s unlikely subject matter aside, the play went on to be nominated for Best Play at the 2019 Tony awards, and it was a finalist that year for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Considering our 2024 political climate, it is no surprise that two area theatre groups are presenting the play right here in the Mid-Hudson Region, and you might want to check out both and see how they compare.

Both presentations also offer voting-related volunteer opportunities. See details in this newsletter or on our website, lwvmidhudson.org
