Ulster County Board of Elections Commissioners Ashley Dittus (D) and John Quiqley (R) explain the very complicated intricacies of voting in the August 23rd elections. A Special Election will be held to determine who will serve the remainder of Antonio Delgado’s former position in New York’s 19th Congressional District (all Ulster voters cast their ballots). And voters will participate in either of two primaries to determine who will run in November for the Democratic slot on the new CD-18, or the Republican slot on the new CD-19 (depending on where you live).
In addition, Republican voters in the western portion of Ulster County may vote in their primary for one of two candidates for the new state Senate District 51 (SD-51).
